Yarn, yarn, and more yarn

I have so much yarn that I am guessing that it would be impossible for me to use it all in my lifetime. I have one HUGE ball that I have used for a poncho (for my granddaughter) a scarf (for my daughter) and honestly...I can't see that it has decreased at all.

Two years ago, I made about 35 knitted hats for our local homeless shelter, but still have have a ton of yarn left.

I am looking for suggestions on how to use up this yarn that won't either bore me to tears, or give me carpel tunnel.

Help me use it up

Here is the easiest dishcloth that I have found. The only stitch is the knit stitch...which is great...because I still can't purl very well!

co4, k 1 row
Next row, k2 inc in next st, k1
Next row, k2,yo,k to end of row
Repeat the k2, yo, k until you have 45sts on the needle
Next row, k1, k2Tog, yo, k2Tog, k to end of row
Continue to do this , decreasing each row until 5 stitches are left. Then, k2, k2Tog, k1.
Bind off the 4 sts.

And here is the easiest Baby Booties in the world. I don't remember where I got this pattern, but I have had it for years and made dozens and dozens for charities that serve babies in need.

Easy Knitted Booties

These booties can be made using baby, sport or worsted weight yarn. The finished size depends on the needle and yarn used. If you cannot cast off in ribbing, then take a crochet hook and crochet the stitches off.

Baby and sport yarn with a needle sz 3/4 should yield a booty w/sole measure around 2 ins.
Worsted and sz 6/7 needle should give you a newborn boEasy Knitted Bootiesotie.

Cast on 28 sts. Knit 10 rows.
Row 11: K12, K2 tog, K2 tog, K12.
Row 12: Knit across
Row 13: K11, K2 tog, K2 tog, K11.
Row 14: Knit across.
Row 15: K10, K2 tog, K2 tog, K10.
Row 16: Knit across.
You should have 22 sts.
Rib these sts for 10 rows,K1,P1 or K2,P2. Cast off in ribbing.

Fold finished bootie in half and sew the center back seam and sole closed. Trim ends.

Helpful Hints - I usually use two small balls of yarn and cast on two booties to work at the same time. It keeps the pair of booties the same since I tend to forget to count the rows.

Also...I don't do ribbing...because I can't purl, so I just continue with the knit stitch and make the top longer and turn it down as a cuff. I also like to put little ribbon bows on the top of the bootie. Cute, cute, cute!
